LINDA FARROW has carved out a unique space with the BLACK SERIES. It’s a capsule collection that not only redefines men's luxury eyewear but also stands as a personal and professional milestone for the brand’s CEO and Creative Director. The collection is a confluence of his design philosophy, market foresight, and vision for the future, all while staying true to the brand’s core values.
BLACK SERIES emerged from Simon's love for minimalist, detail-oriented design in matte black, a color he frequently wears. It was a response to the stereotype that LINDA FARROW was predominantly a feminine brand. "This series allowed me to focus on the male product line and narrate my personal story," Simon reflects when asked about the capsule. He emphasizes the timelessness and consistency in the collection, allowing him to focus on creating fewer but exceptional pieces that last.
The capsule was a bold departure from a successful brand. And while it was his call to invest the time, resource and energy needed to bring BLACK SERIES to life, to Simon, leadership is a team effort. Keeping his creative and operational collaborators motivated and inspired starts with building a collective vision. "Once you do that, we are all excited and committed to its success," he says.
Looking ahead, Simon sees a widening gap in the luxury eyewear market. "The demand for quality and craftsmanship will only grow," he predicts, envisioning a big tech influence but a sustained acceleration in top luxury brands, similar to the luxury watch industry. His advice for staying ahead is to remain true to the core values and principles of luxury, valuing clients through creativity, craftsmanship, and excellent service.
Simon's excitement for the future of BLACK SERIES is palpable. "My goal is to create a universe where our clients feel part of our brand and journey," he shares. Plans are already in motion to expand the series with new styles, accessories, and lifestyle touchpoints. BLACK SERIES stands as a testament to Simon's visionary leadership, creative prowess, and keen market insight. When asked what advice he'd give his younger self, Simon’s response is refreshingly candid: "None. My innocence, passion, and self-belief were part of my success."
