Linear: In Conversation with Diana Chire

Tell me about the time in your life when you were happiest?
I’m happiest when I’m travelling. I love exploring new cities. I lived in Berlin a couple of years ago. I’m really thinking about a post Brexit move later this year.

What’s the very best thing that has ever happened in your career - and why?
Making my film. Starting it in my notebook and then a year later hearing back the words I had written from the actors was just great! I’m currently developing a feature.

What is the one thing you want to do or achieve in the next five years?
Making more films and getting a dog. I want a Cocker Spaniel!

Is it more difficult to produce good art now than before or has it always been the same?
It’s been easier for me to make art the older I’ve got. I know exactly what works and know how to change things up if I don’t like the piece I’m working on. Im definitely more confident. I’m most inspired working alone in the studio.

Name three artists that you would snog, marry, avoid and explain why?
It is has always been Rihanna, Rihanna and Rihanna

Name the three most important things in your life?
My mother, my art and David Cronenberg. I am obsessed with his films, in particular Videodrome and Crash.
